For crying out loud!

I get a feeling this is a case of preaching to the choir, the people who are going to be voting for Mccain are not the ones who are broadening their minds surfing the internet.
-
Many people still harp on that the Constitution is a God-inspired document. Yet GOD IS NEVER MENTIONED IN THE CONSTITUTION.
The "In GOD we trust" logo was added to our money in 1957, yet it's argued that it's constitutional and cannot be removed.
These are the same people that say they believe in a seperation between church and state yet will base their vote on who their religious denomination endorses.
-
lol. Love the rhino. I'd be an emperor, though, not a president.

Seems to me you cannot believe the US constitution was handed down by the Man and claim you believe in the separation of church and state. The first cancels the latter out.
Anyway, gents, who do you think'll win? I'm hoping McBomb won't, but I'm not very optimistic. Yah, Tom, I know. Biting it right now.

Just talked to my buddy in CT (sent him the video) and he said he went to services a few times at her (father's) church of a similar denomination, 40-some years ago when first dating his wife: he thought it was great!...just like going to the circus! :`)

Unfortunately, there are too many racists in this country that couldn't stomach even a half African American president, even in the face of our country being driven to the brink of another depression by a republican administration. I'm not crazy about Hillary, but I think she would have had a better shot at beating Gram-pa. At least W lived up to his excpetations...everything the guy has touched in his life has gone bankrupt, including our country. I am not sure I agree with all of Obamas politics, but he has got to be better than a carbon copy of the last idiot, with a side dish of moron fundamentalist Christian, gun toting, hockey mom politics.

Welcome Fella.
I agree racism is alive and well here, it's a very taboo subject and most folk would rather be labled a thief or sex offender than a racist. What they say in public polls is not what they vote, so whatever Obama has as a lead in the polls one can take away at least 10% for the closet racists that will never vote for a black man as president.
These are the same close minded people that point a finger at me, a white South African born male and assume me to be a racist.
-
Yah, welcome Fella. Good to see you here.
Yup, closet racism, that is what's going to keep Obama from the Oval Office, imo. I'm willing to bet there's not going to be a black man in there til Will Smith is in his fifties or sixties and decides to run.
Shame, really. Four more years of rampant imperialism - I'm not exaclty overjoyed. Neither is the rest of the world, I think.
Edit: before I forget, I read that Mrs. Palin tried to get certain books banned from the local library when she was mayor. That true? If it is, danm it, that woman sure ain't cut out for major league politics. The thirties are long gone, Sarah!
-
Dont dismay friends, Obama is going to win clearly .
I am thinking that as we approach the event coming and gets the final day, it will be a huge amount of people that will finally decide the change. Same people that are now silently watching all the mess that is now running all around their country.
Be confident.
-
Juan, i thought the same thing last time george B was in the election, i think you might be surprised by the short sightedness of the american people.
-
Pete, Stink..good to see you guys too...
I hope your right, Juan. According to the latest poles, after the stock market took a dump McCain's numbers slid considerably. There is allot of talk that this whole stunt he is pulling suspending his campaign to fix the economy is just a ploy to make him look like he gives a s**t and delay his debate and even more importantly, make the VP debate go away altogether. I have to be honest, I am really afraid of a person like Palin even getting remotely close to being the president. And given that McCain is so old he remembers the first depression, it's highly likely that he could drop dead of a heart attack and then guess who's facing down serious world politics with her folksy, working mother politics....man, that scares the crap out of me. As far as the book banning thing goes, I guess she approached the librarian and asked her if she would be opposed to removing certain titles from the library, and when she said she would, she was promptly fired...that seems to be the way the Palin administration operated in Alaska...if you weren't down with her views you were out the door so she could give your job the someone she went to high school with that is grossly incapable of performing said job.
-
Seriously? The librarian was even fired? Gee, that's ... bad. Taking away someone's livelyhood for not agreeing with you is, well, not a very decent thing to do. Maybe it's just me with old school leftist morals, eh?
I can totally see Palin having a serious talk with, say, Sarkozy, on global economics. (Sarkozy, afterwards: "Une MILF extraordinaire, mais bête! Incroyable! Ces Américains sont complètement fous!")
Speaking of which, economics I mean, if I were emperor of the EU, I'd be on a shopping spree right about now. I'd try to get my smelly paws on as many chunks of the American economy as I could.
Insurance, you know? McBomb goes to war, emperor Stinkie dumps his stock on the market. All at once, at discount rates. John would understand, he's all in favour of the free market.

I am confident in that the Strength the América People have because of their History, will manifest now. It is Now or Never and after hearing your testimonials I would be afraid too. Still, be confident
stinkie, not bad idea -
I hate to interfere with the left wing love fest here, but the librarian did not lose her job.
Does anyone here understand what the Glass-Segall (sp?)Act is/was. It was a Depression-era Act meant to separate banking, insurance and brokerage. It was repealed under Bill Clinton. Admittedly, he had a Republican Congress, but it happened under his watch. Many smart people point to this repeal as one essential reason we're in this mess today. It allowed these Wall Street crooks to create these highly complicated derivatives and notional financial instruments such as credit default swaps.
This mess was further aided by Clinton's and Bush's "desire" to increase home ownership. In 1999, the Fed ordered Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to accept weaker credit from borrowers. Thus we got 97% financing and no income verification loans to name a few.

All the better. Still, Palin tried to get books removed. Bad thing. B-A-D.

Whoa! That's outrageous! No wonder you guys are in deep sh*t. I've been reading about the debts an average American family has for years, but until this crisis, I had no idea things were this bad.
-
Ok..here we go...lets blame everything thats wrong in this country on Bill Clinton..ya, thats right it's all his fault were in this mess.I guess that brainless monkey we call a president, and his right hand man that likes to drink and shoot his friends in the face, and all his well qualified cabinet members that previously ran horse shows, that have been in control for the last 8 years..they have no complicity in this crisis. They are all done making millions for themselves and their rich friends, and bending the constitution into a pretzel, so they are going to walk away from this mess and blame it on the democratic congress and a president that was in office 8 years ago. What you might see as a liberal love fest feels more to me like the pain full truth to some...the same ones that assured me 8 years ago that Bush was an intelligent man, and that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Really...to blame the state of union today...a financial crisis that could be as bad as the 1929 crash..on one piece of legislation that Clinton signed 8 years ago? You need to stop drinking that Republican Kool-Aid, my friend..

I like the European approach on 'seperation between church and state' more.
No word of god anywhere in politics. Neutral, And it should be like that.
I have the impression the US is promoting god as hard as the middle east is promoting allah these days.(sorry, I don't use capitals)
Not the best evolution of evolutions in my idea.
