          3D Warehouse

3D Warehouse is a website of searchable, pre-made 3D models that works seamlessly with SketchUp.

This model has been in the works since 2016. It's slowly become my most detailed and cleanest yet, and I'd say my favourite too! The 2020 Milano comes in at 250k polys, DOUBLE that of the 2015 Coupe!

The engine is my 4.0 I6 now with Twin Turbos! The drive-train and suspension are largely revised form previous models for accuracy and realism, now with a lot more detail. My interior model has been extensively reworked. Gone are the boring generic seats and in their place are a massively updated luxury set. The dash is largely worked over with a more modern shape, featuring hidden retro-modern LED gauges behind a frosted 'glass' fascia (not modeled). I've also largely updated the door cards with a cleaner shape, new arm rests and new and revised speakers.

The body borrows from the 2015 model but has been heavily revised. Mesh has been nearly doubled and the rear has seen extensive subtle revisions, with a recessed 'aero' appearance.

I hope you enjoy my work!

😠 ... Well, I managed to lose my copies of the Puma, K1600 and Fortissimo II I had been working on. Lost a couple of dozen hours of work! 😒

Fortunately they weren't from scratch models, and I can just re-do what I had done before. I've started with the Puma, but decided to change things up a bit! I've gone for more of a Mk2 Escort RS2000 X-Pack mixed with an Opel Manta. I might still do the more 70's looking one too, I'm not sure yet.

A little bit more work, mostly design refinements and improving mesh detail. Felt like posing it with my Milano Sedan. Still a long way off yet πŸ˜‰

Thanks guys! I would like to do some renders, but came to the realisation a long time ago that setting up renders isn't my forte

So, I just had to play with this idea, which actually works quite well! Rover SD1 anyone?

While I am no expert (by any stretch of my imagination), I think Twilight Render is fairly easy to learn (and they have a hobby version) and they also have a couple of great support guys who give really good assistance/advice.

I think rendering is a skill set that really brings models to life. πŸ˜„

The motors are great, rendering is easier when you have a good 'studio' setup and Twilight v2 pretty neat tbh. An SD-1, not simple imho but a stylish motor. Better by far in the looks stakes would be a P5-B coupe 4 door as was used by Maggie Thatcher in the day.

Ben makes some great models so it was both inspiring and easy to do the renders for him.

Like I said, I wish I had a larger library of HDRIs.

I was trying two different types of lighting. One in the shade and one in direct sunlight.

The Falcon is more of a "glamour / studio set" shot and the Milano is more of natural, "from a phone cam" shot.

Well, I found my old licence for KeyShot and reinstalled to play with some renders. I've spent the best part of 6 hours playing with textures and lighting. It's not perfect, they're a little dark, but I'm happy enough with the results. It doesn't hurt that my new models are significantly more well optimised for rendering and that my PC is dozens of times more powerful than my old laptop. Renders at 1080p would have taken me an hour before, but these took me about 2-3 min each...

First set is of some of the Milano Sedan set, I'll upload more as I play around a bit more
