      Would this count?

I actually built this one although I didn't draw the ribs correctly.

And the building form and transoms:

I don't see why it wouldn't count, provided you knew how long it took to model.

The boat took probably about 30-45 minutes in SketchUp. That was prior to the Skin plugin which might reduce the time. Of course I spent about 10 minutes scaling the lines in another program beforehand.

That is a beautiful piece of design and craftsmanship. Sort of marlin spike meets nursery. Now do you control the kid with a whack from a belaying pin? I built a similar but not near as well designed crib for my son. I set it up near my hammock so I could stick my foot out when he cried and rock his crib. The beauty of that was that either he or I soon fell asleep which always provided a successful conclusion. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

              Thank you Roger.

I hadn't thought of a belaying pin but I might have to make one. πŸ˜‰

The kid is now four and a half. The cradle is still in his room but filled with stuffed animals--sort of an ark. Once in awhile he pulls the critters out of it and climbs in. I'm always amazed that the boat never complains about the weight. Especially so since the planks are only 1/8" thick pine. It's a good demonstration of the strength gained by bending a skin.

Remus, thank you. The real one was built before the virtual one. It was indeed only about 30 -45 minutes in SketchUp The drawing was originally done in a program called Hulls from a table of offsets. It was scaled down from 8' to about 40" long but that was an automatic thing in the Hulls program, too. DXF output from there to SketchUp, a little bit of construction work and done. πŸ˜‰

This one was quick, too. It was originally done in Free!Ship. Exported to SketchUp for clean up and then to KT for rendering. πŸ˜„

                      Nice work there.

I'm not sure but I wonder if you're thinking of the original thread which was posted in the SketchUp forum.
