Anyone up for a speed modellign challenge?
-
So how about it?
I was thinking of a subject thats fairly simple (something that could be a component perhaps?) so the emphasis is on speed.
If we get 15 'yes' votes i'll give you a subject.
-
In what way?
-
that is not fair, Remus
say it
i propose a cube tall opened house of rescue on a beach of not much lighting because of a coming storm

Anyone up for a speed modellign challenge?
was is not now ?
why waiting? -
Because if no ones interested, there isnt a lot of point in doing it <---non offensive wink

If I may enquire, how exactly are you planning to conduct a 'speed' modeling competition in an online forum?
-
Give a topic, then people submit their model along with the amount of time spent modelling. The person with the best combination of fast modelling and a good end result wins.
-
.......if only Sketchup files kept a record of the time spend!!!!!
-
Indeed that would help a lot, although it wouldnt solve the problem entirely, as people could just copy and paste bits in.

Just give someone a 15, 30 or 60 minute time limit. Trust in people's honesty to stick within that time limit.
-
fair enough, I'm in.
How about an organic form? <---evil grin
-
i think two hours would be the correct limit
-
Depending on the selected subject, two hours is enough to model an entire home or disney character.
I was thinking in terms of like 10 minutes or so. -
solo,
that takes me out for sure -
We could say 30 mins max then, with bonus points for faster modelling.
-
I don't know how the bonus points would work. I tihnk just keep it simple at 30 minutes flat.
I like the idea overall. I might be interested as long as I could find time and an idea to submit.

I didnt mean actual points btw, i just meant it in a 'more kudos for faster modelling' way.
-
i dont think Chris Fullmer will be very happy with your wink

Agree on a time to start and don't announce the subject of the model until the time of starting. Then models must be submitted by the finish time.
Still, depending on the subject of the model someone may already have made something for a previous project.
I always thought a one minute modeling contest would be fun. Well, I suck at it but it would be fun to see what other people can do.
