Ah, lucky you with this flat terrain! Sigh, my place is so hilly billy!
Anyway, nice models! -
Thanks for your comment.
Terrain in quite flat indeed.
Main square has got some really nice historic buildings, most of them are hundreds of years old.
Yesterday I got interviewed by my local newspaper, they are gonna post an article in next week's paper! -
Lol, how did they came to know that you had been modeling Bergen op Zoom? Nice models though, did you get the textures by photo or by combining several textures from 'the internet'?
*Heerlijk, eindelijk eens wat Hollanders hiero !
-
Well, Bergen op Zoom won the award for "Best City Center"
(Nice shops, well maintained buildings, interesting historic building and monuments)
So everybody is busy promoting the city to attract more tourists.I've made two models,(hotel and city hall)these models have been accepted in 2007.
Now my goal is to model the entire main square. Going to put Bergen op Zoom on the digital map!
I've called the local newspaper to see if they were interested. And they were!@unknownuser said:

Hey guys,
Added a few new buildings. The building on the left is a Greek restaurant.
The spire in the back is a church that has been converted to a theather.

Cool stuff War and looks pretty efficient way of modeling for GE. Keep them coming!

Hi Eduardo,
I think this is great! I have a similar project modeling the centre of the town where I live: Leominster (pronounced Lem-ster) Herefordshire, England. Here's the collection so far:
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/cldetails?mid=694bdaf197e2aec7bac8d19b776df429I like the idea that modelers are doing more than the big, well known world cities.
Good work!

Your models look amazing! I still have a lot to learn...

Eduardo,
Mainly, I'm doing it the same way you did this sample. Since I'm taking my photos from the ground, I often can't get good pictures of the roofs, chimneys, etc. Then I use textures from CGTextures for roof tiles and bricks.

I'm now updating one of my first models, Residence Dagmara. (Built in 1879)
The Google Earth accepted model doesn't have any photo textures, so its time for an update!

Hi Eduardo,
Looking great. I can still see however that your photo - no matter how well it was shot - has some "barrel distortion" (bulging on the sides). Maybe it's not a big deal in this image but sometimes, when taking photos with a wide angle camera (like in old towns with narrow streets), it can be rather striking.
Have a look at this nifty, little application; GML Undistorter, which will allow you to get rd of this distortion.
(They also have a texturizer plugin for SU if you are interested)
