Going to an Eagles Concert...
-
My wife and I are about to leave for an outdoor concert headlined by the Eagles. Trouble is it is raining. I'm not sure what it will be like standing wet in a field with 50,000 other wet people.
Please send thought waves our way. The hope is that thought energy will break up the clouds, the sun will come out, and we'll dry off.
Regards, Ross

sends thought waves
Good luck, id suggest bringing a change of clothes, then you can look very smug after the concert when everyone else is squelching home in their wet kit.

..... Ah, just go for it Ross and bring a couple of hip flasks
filled with your favourite tipple -
Well it didn't rain at the concert!
It was however a bit of a mudbowl in patches as it had rained all morning & night before the concert. Near where we were standing some-one's foot became stuck in the mud & they fell down snapping their ankle. Ouch - that's gott-a hurt bad.
The lineup was Canadian rocker Sam Roberts - he was good. Then KT Tunstall from Scotland - I wasn't familiar with her but she was excellent. Then it was John Fogerty who performed all the Creadance Clearwater Revival hits. He was awsome. Then it was the Eagles who were about as good as it gets. There's was a very well put together performance of all their hits plus those of the individual member's solo careers. Joe Walsh singing 'Rocky Mountain Way' was a highlight for me.
The concert was promoted by Donald K Donald. If you ever have a chance to go to a festival he's promoting - do it. They do it very well. At the Eagles concert the live video was done at a much higher quality than I'd ever seen done before. It basically was DVD quality but was being recorded and mixed live - really incredible. The sound was great and the stage huge with excelent lighting.
The only hitch to the day was leaving the concert. We sat in our car in a lineup for two hours before we could get out of the site. It was estimated that there were close to sixty thousand people there. That made the concert site the biggest 'city' in the Province of New Brunswick where the concert was located. (A two hour drive from my home in the adjacent Province. We got home about 3:20am).
Below I attach a pic. My wife and I were standing (in the muck) just infront of the speaker towers out in the field. We were quite close to the stage and could see well.

Glad you and your good lady enjoyed it Ross. I remember you
mentioning it when we were sightseeing in San Francisco.Mike

Sounds like a great time.
Thanks for sharing.

I imagine all the rain was too busy having a party over the UK to ruin your concert

Ross must be tired out after bogging around

Eagles! I'm so jealous!

Geez Ross, I was looking forward to a Woodstock flashback.
