3D PaintBrush
-
Hi Guys,
Just learned about 3D PaintBrush by Geometric. Its quite an
interesting piece of software that imports .skp files for
some 'near' photo-realistic rendering in real-time.The blurb goes,
%(#0000BF)[3DPaintBrush is an exciting 3D software that provides near
photo-realistic rendering quality for your 3D assets, in real
time. With an intuitive user interface and a rich toolset, you
can start producing creative images and animations within seconds,
with no learning curve and zero programming skills].I downloaded the demo, btw you need to get an auth code but
its pretty straightforward. The demo runs for 15 days allowing
save.Mike

Got a link mike?
-
Done now
-
interesting. Seems like a plethora of third party apps are supporting .SKP file format these days.
-
How much will it sell for?
couldn't find a price. -
-
Seems interesting at first glance, but would be nice to see some thing in the gallery other than cars. I'm sure they will add more soon.
-
I've also only had a quick play with it and I like the way
it handles .skp files. Its a different approach to preparing
presentation stuff in real time. It looks to be only suited
for single objects though but again maybe not. They have let
themselves down with the examples they have shown! Again an
other firm that did not leverage the advantages of having good
Beta Testers that would have produced some quality outputs in
many areas?$99 is a very 'sellable' price for products these days and I'm
sure people probably will go for it, even if just to have it in
the arsenal for occasional use. It's funny, I was just thinking
about the maximum payable price for SketchUp Add-Ons the other
day and this was the figure I came up with also. Not too much
andnot too little. Better to sell 10 products at $99 rather than
5 at $150 when the productions costs are the same.Mike
-
Amen to that, Mike...less than $100 ($90 really) is my "what have I got to lose" threshold! (When I'm flush with cash, that is :`) Beyond that in want to be prettydamn sure before I buy.
-
Thanks Mike, youve dug up something interesting once again!
Price is $99!....which seems pretty reasonable.
Its not a renderer from what I can see but as it says, a 3D paint applier.
But you can add glossiness and specularity, for example, with the paint.
The tutorials look good....seems pretty simple and intuitive.
Interesting.....but as David said, something more than cars would would make it easier to make a better evaluation.ED. Had a quick play with it.....looks to me like it might be fun adding a render look to.......yes.....cars

I can't seem to access the web-page...?!?
s it just me, or... -
Doesnt work for me either, it worked this morning though
-
This link one works
But not the links inside -
They never anticipated the rush, we have almost 8000 members here and about the same amount of unregistered lurkers. I remember when I first linked my crappy (microsoft hosted) site months back I got so many hits that it became temporarily unavailable for days and I had nothing as cool to offer.
-
It seems SCF is the next digg.
-
'spose we could start selling endorsments? :`)
-
The link is back up again
-
Its actually a fun app.
And probably with a bit of tweaking [and reading the manual] could be pretty useful.
-
That's what we want to hear Stu, FUN
-
if its not a renderer then what is it? ANd what does it mean by realtime?
