Dave, wonderful presentation! The edge style (who's is that?) works beautifully with the materials (thanks so much for those BTW), they seem loose and watercolory...lovely.

Is the background elevation and the colored model really in the same skippy...if so, how'd you do that?

Tom, the edge style is one that Ross did.

Yes, the background elevation and the colored model are in the same skippy. To do it, I first setup the view in the background so the model filled the drawing window. I exported a JPG of it. Then I went back to texture view and turned perspective on. I set up the colored view close to the way I wanted it. The exported JPG was then brought in as a background watermark image. I fine tuned the view of the model and exported again.

For this image, I din't even bother to open the first export before importing it as the watermark. I could imagine some of your work including some editing of the export to make a sort of soft, watercolor background if you were inclined.

Anyway, what I did was dead simple and quick. I had a thought about dimensioning the line drawing before exporting it but the dimension lines won't take on the edge style of the rest of the model and I think that would take away from it. I suppose a sketchy sort of look could be created in PS or something though.

Dave, thanks...what I suspected after I took some time to think about it. Interesting idea about using a misty rendered background with a study model, I'll have to play with that, thank you very much...might trip a "buy more from Tom" trigger sometimes :`)
