no, no, no, your not reading me clearly, i absolutely like the idea of a kind of floating toolbar that has all the tools inside it with the name beside it and if all possible can be customized, exactly like the picture that ive attached earlier.
Ooooh,...
Why? If you hover over the icons you get the name too. Anyways, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Jim, this is pretty slick. I made a replacement for the Camera toolbar that includes centerSelection. So now there's eight tools in that bar instead of 7. I include the TXT file for anyone who might want to do the same thing.
-
...good idea Jim thanks!
-
my sketchup is in D:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 6
I did put the toolbars into the plugins folder but nothing happened
-
Read through the thread.
Go to Preferences and check the appropriate box under Extensions.
-
Just curious if anyone discovered the "double" meaning of some of the icons?
Nathan Cheever (alz) is the one who did all the work and deserves all the kudos for the custom icons. Thanks again, Nathan!

Now we just need someone to make buttons for the missing icons!
Great plugin!!!!
Scott
If anyone has created buttons for the missing icons please post them for others who are not as creative
-
Jim, thaaaaaaaanks!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Well,... thats one way of saying thank you
But creating icons for it is hard since you have to scale it down to 24x24 [I'm not going near the 16x16 icons ]
But I'm getting there
-
James, all you need to do to make a new icon is export a PNG, make the background transparent and resize it to 24x24 and 16x16 pixels. Replace the "No Icon" image for the icon you are making in the Toolbars\Images folder with the new icon.
This is a first try but it doesn't read so well in the toolbar.
-
You may want to exaggerate the contrast or draw extra lines around you icon Dave
-
I probably should have saved the SketchUp file then.
-
Before you go too crazy with the icons, here's a note from alz:

I'll have a big batch of Icons
for you this weekend. I'm ravamping them to be
less hmmm... pixelly and more smooth-ish like the
original SU icons.I will likely include what he so generously made in the next release of the plugin.
-
Jim,
Great effort on this. This is something that a lot of people want, or can use. Those of us who have come from Autocad are used to customizing commands. It leaves one question though, why didn't Google put something like this into the program.Best,
-
brilliant effort... thankyou sir!
-
Thanks everyone.
As I said earlier, Nathan is trying to get more icons cranked out this weekend.
I'm not sure if this is something that Google will be addressing in later versions of SketchUp. There's a definite need for users to be able to customize menus and toolbars to fit their workflow.
-
Updated with Nathan's additional icons.
This download includes the complete plugin. You may delete the toolbars.rb file and toolbars folder, if you want. You can also just over-write the files and folders.

If you think of some function you would like to add to your toolbars, let me know.

...Thanks once again!

Isn't this a nice a logical solution to organizing/accessing SU commands!
Thank you, Jim.Jim:
I noticed that the "Toggle Axes" icon doesn't change its background when clicked upon. Is there a way to allow this?
Can the following be added:
TwoPoint Perspective?
Move Scene Up
Move Scene DownI don't suppose you could use a toolbar.txt file to call script.rb files could you?
Too bad something similar can't be done for the SU menus via a .txt file.
