You know what ...... WE already have SU7 in a way!

Hi Guys,
We are all looking forward the seeing SU7 shortly with maybe some
announcements at 3DBC. But when you think about we have SU7! Just
compare V6 after release to V6 now with all the great add-ons and
scripts! Most definitely a different and superior product.And the best part of it is that the progression / development of
SketchUp is very much in the hands of its users. Well done and
thank you to all the Ruby Programmers out there that have made this
happen.Mike

Having so many fantastic ruby improvements may mean it's more difficult for Google to release SU7. Unless SU7 can match SU6+++ then most people who frequent this site won't change. I remember seeing at least one person on this site who still uses SU5 over SU6. Unless SU7 is a massive improvement I'd imagine there will be plenty of people who stick with SU6.

I kind of hope they working on the core of the program, as thats what really need developing. Ruby can do lots of cool stuff, but it wont ever be able to make SU use multi cores.
Mike, i know what you mean. Every now and then i have to use a fresh install of SU and its like having half of SU just disappear!

Yep! You are perfectly right. Hopefully SU7 will use all those
Multi Cores on our computers. This would be the icing on the cake

More than some icing on the cake, it's fast becoming essential. I agree that the very talented ruby programmers have made SU a lot more powerful with their plugins, however it doesn't change the fact that SU seems to be moving sideways and not forward.
