Extrude given shape perp to line by selection
-
Isn't there a script that extrudes a shape about a given line?
I.e. pick shape them pick line to extrude shape about centroid, edge or given point of shape. 1. draw line or curve 2. draw shape to be extruded along line. 3. select shape to be extruded along line. 4. select line for extruded shape. ruby would hace to put plane of shape perpendicular to endpoint of line. -
How is what you're proposing different form the "follow me" tool?
-
indeed, what you're typing pretty much sums up 'follow me'

Hi All
What is wanted is to align a face 90 deg to path that is at any xyz direction.
Follow me does not re-orientate the face 90 deg to path end point.
If the face is oblique it will be extruded as such.Align perp to endpoint of line segment would be a super time saver.

Could you not just rotate the face so that it would be perpendicular?

lapx,
I know exactly what you mean. This would be a useful tool and a huge timesaver.

Ah, I understand now and amen to that! and maybe as an extra add-on auto rotate to create nice twisting shapes
