      Hi Guys,

I believe most attendees will be arriving at SFO at various times.
For me, it will be quite late at night and I really don't want to
sit behind a wheel after approx. 20 plus hours of travel and not
knowing what day of the week it is 😲 I was lucky the last
time as Alan, Allister, Sanja and I travelled together and Alan
made a good job of the driving .... he loves adventure πŸ˜‰

I've done a little research and located this site / advise. It has
some good tips on how to make the commute.

      (conferences.computer.org)

Shared Shuttle Van South & East Bay Shuttle (1-800-548-4664) and
SuperShuttle (415-558-8500) are two companies offering door-to-door
service in shared vans. A one-way trip on South & East Bay Shuttle
is $25 for the first person and $8 for each additional person to the
same destination. A one-way trip on Super Shuttle is approximately
$26 – $31 per person for the Palo Alto / Los Altos / Mountain View
region. While the van is likely to make several stops on the way,
generally the shared shuttle van represents the best compromise
between cost and travel time expended. Shared vans are dispatched
from the center island on the upper level of the terminal. Since
baggage claim is on the lower level, you must go upstairs after
collecting your luggage and find the dispatch center on the center
island. It is not necessary or desirable to make reservations for
trips FROM the airport. Shuttle drivers should know the locations
of the Westin, Sheraton and Cardinal hotels; those going to check
in for on-campus housing need to request to be taken to the Florence
Moore Hall Service Center, 436 Mayfield Avenue on the Stanford Campus.

      Hope this helps πŸ˜‰

      Mike

Mike your link is out of date. That price is for 2005
the prices now are $39 one way or 78 return or another company has $117 one way for a minimum of 4 people together. The stopping along the way makes the ride very long and quite gruelling for those who have arrived from a long flight.

That isn't cheap and I thought that if 4 individuals need to spend at least $60 shuttling back and forth, that money buys more freedom to get around in Mountain View. I can't imagine that every hotel is going provide a shuttle to Google Headquarters

well it is not such a big oops. The price range you had ended with $31 and I think that must have been the Mountain View price with the $25 probably being the Palo Alto price.
So it was oops by $8 one way.
Anyway, it may end up being really difficult to coordinate everyone's schedule and most of us may indeed end up taking the shuttle.

I really think so Susan. Even if the Shuttle makes a lot
of stops, this time could also be spent waiting to meet
someone and share a car ..... Swings and Roundabouts πŸ˜„
