For the ADA toilet stall, check your building code. some cities, one being Chicago, requires a vertical grab bar as well. Depends on which version or set of rule is being adopted.
EXACTLY, JIM! It's the same for Wisconsin... the new extra 18 vert. grab bar... I'm actually more pro ADA than most architects I know, but soon we'll just be installing a jungle gym.

ps, anyone seen a nice wall-hung toilet - like for hospitals? I've been all thru the warehouse and they're all junk...

I understand that "International" here means "All states of the USA" in the same sense as a cricket match between England and Wales is "international"? Even in Europe standards are yet not very widespread. I don't remember the exact number, but the variety of size and shape for wall electrical outlets, with their plugs, for instance, is stunning.

no, actually, the states are not countries... just states.
the "International" stands for Canada and USA... we take the same licensing exam now... use basically same code book... except each state or province have their own 'isms' - such as California may have extra codes for earthquakes, etc.

well, meanwhile... many moons later... I have created the file.
It shows the ADA Toilet Room Grab Bars (to the best of my ability/understanding) exactly as specified in ANSI A117.1 ...
So attached you will find a SketchUp model with the ADA grab bars for a toilet room built to ANSI A117.1 standards.
I expect to one day be in a toilet room in the African desert and see this grab bar setup - got it?!
