              There are times when good modeling and great textures mixed with creative composition can out do many renders.... this is one of them.

                      i totally agree.
                      sometimes a really precise, detailed model can have more of an impact than a photo realistic render. there is something incredibly honest and humbling about a finely detailed and well composed model.
                      solo, you (clearly along with topo!)are masters in this field.
                      i would also imagine that this kind of modelling makes for a more natural progression into the realms of rendering?

                          Certainly the basis of any good render is a good model. You cannot substitute everything with bumpmaps and such.

                            definitely... you cannot have 'photoreal' without the detail.. no matter how skilled you are or how great your rendering software is...if you dont have a detailed model... you've got nothing! (well..maybe not nothing ๐Ÿ˜„ )
