What render app. have you used for making these, Remus..?? πŸ˜•
And can you share some info about how you've done the texturing on the spherical shape..??
I feel that SU is so poor when it comes to spheres, but maybe you can shed some light...!? πŸ˜‰

        Cheers

The first 4 were podium renders, and form then on they're all indigo.

To texture the wooden bowl i used a prjected texture on all the surfaces, did the same for the completely wooden sphere as well.

To do the wood/glass sphere i intersected a series of planes with the sphere before applying a straight texture.

          Nothing very special really πŸ˜‰

obviously not such a popular subject, anyway, onto more interesting things:

Definetly a WIP, need ot improve the colours, probably going to have to redo the shape as well, its too low poly really.

Remus, you are on the right track.

the best way to get efficient and fluent with a render engine is to play with it.

Now challenge yourself, try bumps with reflection, transparency with caustics, metals with specular maps, etc.

not very challenging, but jolly toasty.

warning make sure youve got a good squint going before you look at this, the textures are very badly done, i couldnt be bothered to redo them.

Lots of points if you can guess what its meant to be πŸ‘

And i do rather like the lighting, just a pity the models not so brilliant πŸ˜‰

Looking at it now id say it does look more like a levitating snake skinned banna with a xip, but actually it was meant to be a glases case.

i need more practice texturing πŸŽ‰

first i merged a podim render with a style, i tihnk it was a sketchy edge of some description, sketchy edge was set at about 50% opacity. I then did another layer which i set to about 30% opacity, on this new layer i painted the colours, then blended the colours with the smear tool.

                                        Thats all in photoshop btw.

Just stuff people have done before really πŸ˜‰
