Looks really good. I like the light.
-
much better looking background, i think..
-
Looking better Jason. One trick I've used is to lighten/darken the same texture image to get some variation. Cabin looks better without the blue siding, too, I think.
-
Your animation/rendering is looking awsome. What program(s) are you using?
-
wicked cool! the first one reminds me of a house boat for some reason... anyway, these are looking good!
-
Good renders. And the design no longer makes me want to add gasoline pumps on the deck

Jason! I love this one! What character it has!
-
I like this even better than the previous! It has some kind of "fairy tale" or "cartoon" feeling...
-
that is kind of what we were going for..some kind of funky traditional.. the rear is all glass so it gets a little more modern... client is not liking the materials though.. so we'll see how it changes..
-
Nice work Jason.
One suggestion about the green roof option would be to change the texture from grass to Sedum planting else your client may be posed with the awkward question "How do I get a mower on the roof to cut the lawn?"
The last one is completely different in style. To me, it looks like a shaker-style house mixed in with modern kal-zip roof. The dark timber material looks really nice.
Any plans on doing a render with all 3 side-by-side?
Its a great start and I look forward to see it progress.
-
haha...yeah, i do need to think about the green roof...at the very least, i'm going to make that 'grass' a little more random...but it looks so nice and ordered that way
i hadnt thought of doing all three together..that is a great idea..

Jason,
It's kinda funny because I'm a fan of modern architecture, but the third model immediately makes an emotional connection which the first two didn't. Go figure.

I too am disarmed... It has some dreamlike, surreal quality

hey..thanks everyone...defintiely the reaction we were going for! really trying to figure out the materials... want to have a few different materials.... the back is supposed to be all glass and very modern looking...so need to look into what else to use.. any suggestions are greatly appreciated... i like the horizontal wood rain screen..might try it vertically though to give it a little more height...
-
thanks daniel... i took the guy out (as well as the background for the time being)... i have such a hard time with wood textures so hard to find good ones.. here is a 'night' version.... b/c the day version had dark wood siding and looked like crap..so i just used multilight real quick and changed it i've just got two big invisible emitter planes in there to get some light on the interior....
running another in a few minutes with a few updates to materials...
-
ok..added a couple little details and adjusted some materials..i think its looking better? going to go back and see if i can improve the background environment next..
-
thank you modelhead! i will keep that in mind, for sure..
here is a little update.. going to run a closeup view tonight..
-
thanks daniel..that is all Maxwell so far...
here is a shot of the interior..not looking so great because of the lack of detail.. but i wasnt initially planning to do it..so rushed to throw a few small details in..
onto cabin 2 tonight, hopefully.
-
ok....here is the second cabin, finally.. a few texture issues..the 'roof' is not supposed to be taht diffuse black.. not sure about the plantings on the roof..
-
thanks, ken!
here is an update... that angle wasnt doing much for this design, i dont think...so we adjusted it.. need to get rid of that sharp line in the background, but cant find my damn mouse for my macbook..haha..
hopefully i can finish modelling/designing cabin 3, today..
