My mother in law some how managed to get her computer stuck in safe mode. Every time she turns it on it starts up in safe mode. What is the procedure for getting the machine back to "regular" windows mode.
      Thanks

You need to enter the boot section right after starting the machine (on my computer this is just pressing trhe Delete button).
It is not really suggested for unexperienced people to play around in the boot settings so she'd better ask someone more experienced to do this.

In there I cannot really suggest anything now for I'm in my office and I cannot enter my boot settings area (we're restricted from that) but if you look around there you can find where to set things.

F8, thanks I knew it was one of those. I've been there just couldn't remember. If that doesn't work than perhaps there is a larger problem.
BTW, she said it was her cat that started the problem. I left it alone.

It's different for different brands of PC. What kind of PC does she have?

Yeah, that's why I said on my PC it's the Delete button. It may be different so just watch at the very beginning of the Boot session (you may need to restart so that the monitor will be "on" if the system is fast enough).

Another Windows option - this on my XP system, other Windows versions are similar - Start > Run, type msconfig, OK. On the General tab select Normal Startup, OK, restart.

Haven't heard back yet. And thanks for the tip on msconfig. We will try that if the F8 doesn't work.
