I will get on with that this evening.
Thank you

I'd just like to congratulate you all on having the most viewed and most replied to thread on our board...
where's Bruce? he's the driving force behind this... and Alan and Edson... and let's not forget Dylan for starting it...
keep it coming kids...

thanks, kris. this thread sums up to me what this board is all about: we learn from each other, grow together and make friends in the process.

Hi Guys,
Yep. Second that from Edson. I would love to know how many people other than Edson and myself, who are also in the process of building their own web pages thanks to there tutorials.
Right, back to my homework.
cheers

Hi Modelhead,
Greetings.
Just finished the last. Excellent tutorial.
Only completed a folder for project 1 so far.
I will see if this link works.http://www.hand-cut-dovetails.com/complexmavigation/project1

Alan
now that did not work. Give me a minute or two.Thats better. Done.
What I like about this feature is that I will be able to give a brief overview of the topic that I will be covering. Great potential.
I will be ready to work on the next part of this teach tomorrow evening, or whenever the other guys are up to speed.
Thank you
Alan -
Hi Modelhead,
Thanks for the last. Yep Im pretty pleased with the tools. They should help considerably when I'm attempting to explain my methods.

hi bruce,
yes, i had seen the "publish as picture" feature, but left it for a later moment. they advise you to use it with caution, though.
well, i did the last lesson in the context of the site i am building. please go to my site, choose the english language and have a look at the portfolio section. the project i set up as per the lesson is sevilha92. while you are at it, have a look at the office section too.
i am ready for the next lesson, if you are.
best wishes.

Modelhead,
Problem resolved with the navigation bar in this lesson. I now know how to fix a similar problem with my web site.
Thank you
Alan

oh yes ..although the text you have used looks good..I am pretty sure it is not the font that you mentioned...I will check that font ...I must have it on my box somewhere. I'll let you know what I find.
yesterday when i published the site navigation was very slow and sometimes i would get old pages instead of the new ones. if that happened to you as well then it must have been a problem with yahoo.
the font i intend to use later is futura, at least for the name of the studio. for now i have used arial for the nav bars and one of the others offered by site builder, either verdana or trebuchet, i think.
cheers.

remember when checking your pages after updating, you need to hit refresh or turn off your browser setting for saved pages... most browsers have options for cashe-ing a page so it loads faster the next time you visit.

Thank you all gentlemen. I have just read this thread from start to finish and found it both informative and riveteting! A must read for anyone contemplating building their own web site. I hope to do so sometime in the future but meanwhile I am learning a lot of very useful stuff. Thank you very much, one and all.

Hi Bill
Welcome and thanks. The Yahoo package is so user friendly. And the teacher: well brilliant.

Hi Modelhead,
A bit of good news. I will be writing on the subject of dovetailing for the new British magazine, British Woodworking. All the specialist jigs and things that I have developed over the years.Because of space issues in the magazine, I will not be able to cover the topic in the detail that I feel would be ideal
But you know what. Because I have this web page up and running, thanks to you and Coen, the readership will be able to view the step by step process on my web page.
cheers
Alan
PS I'm offline soon to watch the England v France rugby union match.
back later -
*"PS I'm offline soon to watch the England v France rugby union match."*How did it go Alan? No coverage at my house. Did the Lions roar?
Cheers Bill. -
Hi Bill
France won. Now they say next week we will be putting out our first XV. See what happens then
