Corel Draw question
-
Couldn't find my Templates thread so I'm starting this one.
If you remember I was having a problem creating pdf templates, and I ended up exporting a dxf, then bring that into C Draw (version 7). I thought I had it figured out, but the templates I made weren't the right size. Instead if 108" x 12" they always ended up 45" x 5".
So, I went and bought the newest version of C Draw (version 11), and now I can create the PDFs accurately, but none of the text or dimensions are showing up. Hoping someone can help me over this last hurdle.
I first create a New Page, then import the dxf. The dxf is fine as you can see.

http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a173/ ... ptions.jpgThis is how it should look
http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a173/ ... uld_Be.jpgbut this is what I get, missing the text and dimensions
http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a173/ ... atIGet.jpgI've tried making the text in SUp bigger and bolder, tried different line weights, and tried using Hidden Line, tried using those different dxf Import options.
appreciate any help on this!

Joe, mightn't it be easier to simply put the dimensions on in Corel? It has a pretty good template tool.

That's what I ended up doing Alan, at least, I used the Text Tool, and put the dimensions into the spots between the SUp arrows, then typed in the larger test (Jacks).
I've been looking around in Corel but can't find where I can put in arrows with the dimensions like I do with SUp. I'll go look around in the Templates!

Joe,
I used to have the same problems until I switched to importing .pdf's instead.
If you plot to a pdf driver such as Acroplot or Adobe Acrobat the drawing will come in complete with lineweights, dims, text etc. CDR X3 seemed to have some pdf import niggles initially but otherwise I find this is the best the way to go.Regards

yeah Tox, that's what I usually do, just export a pdf straight from SUp or from Cute pdf, but I can't do that with templates longer than 100", that's why I need to use Corel.
Is there a low cost pdf creator that will export longer than 100"??
