those 2 vertical lines in the front are part of the hidden walls in for ground - does SU not clip walls at camera if you want it to?

Sy (correct?)...here's a solution or two that I use:

First image shows the shadow settings I use for exterior work (and the dark interior walls). Second image shows adjusting the 'dark' setting lighter (up to the point I can still just see the direct sun from the window on the wall).

Third image shows using the VCB to type the correct rotation angle (SU sees so many inference possibilities that I've given up keeping up and type my angle most times :`) The other way to do it is use the 'flip along axis' option on the 'right click' menu (if your stuff is indeed on an axis).

Finally, to your second post, all you need to do is hide those edges same as your wall faces.

Other ways to do each, I'm sure someone will post, so you'll find your fav eventually. Best, Tom.

Also, I expect someone will move this to the Newbie Forum...?

The Mirror.rb script is located here:
            http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/en_edi_page.htm

However, you can mirror in SU as well.
Select your geometry, get the scale tool and grab the center of whichever side you wish to mirror from, then type -1.

Edson posted a great "how to" on interior shadows as well as Tom's great explaination. Check it out as well:

Tom, I considered moving this to the Newbie forum however it does have an image he created and is asking for critique and suggestions. It is not just a basic question.

Thanks Eric, Edson's tut (thanks Edson) tip to turn off shadows as an alternative adds some extra medium to my paintbox. Best, Tom.

i have almost finished the suite now. I did encounter some unknowns -

                      See deluxe room 02 small
for example the translucent curtain at the end seems to have a part that is open. Its not open really and the cutain is all comprised of the undulating lines that nornally make up a curtain. Whish i knew whats causing it.

                      See deluxe room 05 small.
Also in another style I was wondering how to stop SU from drawing all the curtain lines which are so close together that it creates a horrid dark area.

i am not sure if that is important to you but i always try to get rid of the distortion caused by the perspective (walls not parallel but opening up).

two ways to do it: camera>>two-point perspective or setting the line of view parallel to the ground (the observer's eyes look to a point at the same height as his or her eyes).
