Mac trouble downloading
-
for some strange reason .rb and .style files are downloading as MPEG-1 video file in my macbook. i wonder why. any ideas?

im not a mac expert, but i imagine it has soemthing to do with file association, i.e. your computer sees .stlye/.rb and thinks "its a film, open it with quicktime."
id guess you need to change the file association, but i dont know how youd go aobut that on a mac.

Edson ... Select the file, hit apple-i. Or choose File > Get Info... (sorry, don't know what that is in Portuguese!!!)
This brings up the Get Info dialog. You can change it there...

tim,
i tried that but did not know what to change it to. the system offered me a few options that did not help me. when the same happened to .rb files the way out was to assign them to textedit (since ruby files are actually text files) and to save them again from TE. but i could not do something similar with the .style.
after i posted this topic i have seen mentions to the fact that .style is not a valit ending here. perhaps this is the reason i was having trouble.
notice too that right now all the .style files posted here have been deactivated.
but thanks, anyway.
