It's a rainy Saturday morning here. For something to do I decided to pull out an old jpg export from SU and give a digital watercolour makeover. This one used only the one export -- I didn't use multiple exports like 'lines only' and 'colours only' for overlaying with this one. Xara Xtreme Pro (vector illustration software) was used to produce the effects by building them up with numerous filter-manipulated transparent overlays.

The bright-coloured landscape elements are my homage to Tom. To me those sorts of colours now always remind me of his work. I don't usually have such bright colours in my renderings but on a rainy day like this I needed the cheering up.

      Regards, Ross

Ross, as usual I love your renderings 😄

How do you get the color to "pool" around the edges like it would in something done by hand? It seems to me I found something in PS that did that but I haven't been able to discover it again.

Thanks again for sharing your work. I love your styles on FF. I think I've downloaded them ALL! or at least most of them 😄 My favs lately have been the fineline ink sketch and the fineline graphite sketch. Can't decide which one I LOVE more.

Really sweet, Ross...as usual! The colors remind me of children's book illustrations...bright and cheery. (Pity mine don't :`)

              Really nice Ross.

I've never asked. What is unique about Xara. How does it work? It is a renderer solely? Expensive? How did you find it? What made you adopt it?

I dont know how I missed this post!! Quite a refreshing work!!
Yes how do you do those shadows...make them look 'wet'. Is it a xara deal only? do you know any filter (or set of filters) in pshop that could help achieve similar effect? Thanks for sharing your work!
