Here's a site I found recently http://www.codecomply.com
I have not had a chance to test it out.
It appears to be site assisting in code analysis. Is anyone familiar with it?
I thought it might be useful. I will try it out when I get a chance.
Looks promising.lapx

Bad URL. What kind of code is it supposed to be checking?

Try this URL: http://www.codecomply.com
He is offering IBC codes, 2000, 2003, 2006 and California 2007. I checked out the Beta version -- it looks okay for basic stuff. Since a large part of what I do every day is code analysis for various projects, I have my doubts that any bit of automated analysis can substitute for reading and understanding the various building codes. Unless you understand the structure of the ICC codes, their interrelationships and the meanings (eg. the IBC Code Commentary runs over 1,000 pages), I don't understand how one could analyse a project or safely rely on others to do it for you.

Bummer. I was thinking I could feed my Ruby code through it.

This is really interesting and very appropriate for me. I work for a company that builds and markets software for the construction of garages, decks, and post frame buildings and coming soon houses. Our Design Tools product allows you to build, print drawings for stamping and as well take off professional estimates. We build in local sku numbers and as well the designs are engineered to local codes. There is quite a lot of data gathering required when ever we enter a new market anywhere in the world.Although I haven't looked closely yet as you can understand this application that you have pointed out could be a very large help to us in the data gathering process and a quick method of checking the designs that our render engine creates.
Thanks very much..this is an eye opener.
