Car renders,WIPs&videos

No, I only recently started following it. What I meant was, How do you make the 350Z? I thought--Correct me if I'm wrong--your method couldnt be used to make real cars from blueprints.
Are you using another method for the 350Z, or can your normal method be used for real cars?
-
It's all about moving edges/lines and for blueprints using the parallel view.
If u do know the software, there shouldn't be such question like ''What method do u use?''! U simply do it the way u like or seems easier for you.Have a nice day!
-
Oh, Ok. Thanks.
I'll give it a try.
PS I have watched your video tutorial. I have to say, it's like magic watching you work, even though I dont agree with your designs.
-
I'll take you up on that.
Starting on it right now.
-
It's been some time, since i've played a bit in Sketchup .. anyway, just want to say i' ve been featured with one of my renders on a site, check it out here http://digitalartsecrets.com/2010/05/15/17-striking-car-renderings-that-will-blow-your-mind-away/
Thank you!
-
Good for you Ely! You're in there along with Marian.
"...Will blow your mind away" I can see why your render was in there.
-
Hey Ely i just figured out a better way to subdivide and smooth in sketchup... what you do is finish your modeling and set it up for SDS then explode both sides apply SDS and there is no crease in the center.
-
I know that , but i don t do that because my pc and Sketchup are very slow when i have models with over 200 000 faces. I rather work with an average speed than not having that crease in the middle.
Thank you anyway!

Hi Ely,
I was looking at you website yesterday...Your renders really are some of the best. And your 350Z looked very stunning in the shot with the Autumn environment. One suggestion: I think it would add to the realism if you make your shadows a bit sharper. Keep up the excelent work!
-
Before u start disagree with my designs let see you doing some average models, then we ll talk!
Happy sketching!
-
Wonderful render.. Is that a model made in sketchup? Looks too clean for sketchup!
Thanks d12dozr ! No,they re backplates but i also have hdris for environment .
I didn t dug to much but is there a preview mode for the simlab render?
This is my first result with it ,,,it has to be a preview somewhere , how else could u know how is the car positioned!

1st-go to bunkspeed and watch the tutorial about the lights(it s quite easy)
2nd- i didn t use any lights those rear lights materials are from X-ray materials
And thanks!
-
Thanks Blank!
well for the beginning is pretty good(u should choose other color and put a nice background there )
Meanwhile another concept(this time a friend helped me with the design providing two sketches ;mixing his sketches and my imagination i got this; hope u like it).I want this one to be electric, and maybe it will ..don t know.. if i got some money i ll start to do this in fiberglass first and later i ll put somebody to develop the rest of the car..never know..a dream..
Anyway i ll call it Snake concept car.
-
Coming FAAAASTT(and Furious 2 )..with a big V8 4.2 L ,400 HP...
PS:Kind of low huh..it s ok, just use the move tool
-
Thank you Mr Pilou!
LOL i never believed that somebody ll come with something like that.
I think is quite hard to ride it.
-
didn't like the previous last image and i put on cooking another one...5 hours of rendering ...
-
Damn.. everytime you pop up a pic my jaw slams open and drew comes out o0
ok ok .. that was a bit to much ^^ but I love the pics. (still very fond of your supercar modeling on youtube )
-
Nice work Ely! But doesn't it seem a bit needlessly high-poly? I mean, just a bit? Still great work.

Thanks guys!

Not at all,i want to make it even bigger in poly count by rounding all the sharp edges, but then i thought is no need because the render won t make the corners that sharp.
See ya!
