The Meaning of Liff

A friend had a copy of this book in the pub the other night. We all thought it was hilarious...well, you would after a few pints, wouldn't you? It takes place names from around the globe and gives them definitions as if they were part of the English language. I found a complete version on the Net.

Seems like the kind of book well-suited for bathroom reading.
I thought this word and definition were good:
GOOLE (n.): The puddle on the bar into which the barman puts your change.

I like this one:
WROOT (n.)
A short little berk who thinks that by pulling on his pipe and gazing shrewdly at you he will give the impression that he is infinitely wise and 5 ft 11 in.
