3d mouse
-
G'day everyone,
Just became a member for the first time in this new forum. I used to visit the old one a lot, but was only a sporadic contributor.
Anyway i did a search on the 3d mouse from 3d Connexion and wasn't able to find any discussion on it.http://www.3dconnexion.com/3dmouse/what_is_3dmouse.php
There was a discussion on another 3d mouse, which regrettably is only for a windows system and I am on a Mac.
Does this mean nobody knows about this mouse. If anybody does then let us know about it.
I like to try one myself, but they are so expensive here in Australia. I may have to get a friend to pick one up in the US next time he goes there.Filip K.

Welcome Filip,
I use the 3D connexion Space explorer everyday.
I cannot remember what it's like to model without it.

G'day solo,
Thanks for the quick reply.
That looks like a great machine. To expensive for me, especially her in Aussieland.
I have never seen a product sold her so much more expensive as it is in the US. It's just a plain rip-off.The basic 3d navigator sells for 99 there, but about 240 here, while there is only about 15cents diff. between your dollar and ours. (85c US)
It's the first time I have encountered this. I have tried to buy it through amazon and such places, but are blocked to sell them here.
Both Australian resellers sell them for about the same price, so I don't know, but that smacks of collusion in my opinion.I had a look at your website, are you getting any work through it???

There certainly are some eye opening discrepancies regarding pricing in relation to exchange rates, see the Mac 'AIR' for an example.
With our dollar slippng down the toilet everyday and imports become more expensive one would assume exports move the other direction right? I have no idea besides greed to why this is not happening. My advice is to go for the cheapest equivalent you can find, all those buttons are not really needed as one has a keyboard that has them already mapped. The navigation device is important and that is the same in all of them.
My webbie is more of a collection of SU and Podium works, most of my higher end stuff cannot be displayed as when completed I also give up all rights and with respect to the commissioning investor I would rather not put anything out there that could bite me on the ass, and no free advertising (joke)
As such I have had the site up 4 months and landed a total of 3 jobs from it, nothing big or dynamic but great filler work. I also however get a bunch of help and advice requests, which is also great but cannot always attend to them in a timely way as I would like..... I like the avatar, guess who has been playing with their photobooth effects. You look like one of the characters from Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' video.

So you know about photo booth, even though you are on a window system, you poor sod.
I just upgraded, 2 weeks ago, from an old 17"powerbook to the very latest superduper Mac book Pro. What an eye opener.
It's a major fight between me an my daughter of who is going to use photobooth.
a lot of very weird pictures and video's have been sent around the place.
With your website I was wondering if I should use iWeb and iMac to make my own. As Usual every little bit helps.
It is so easy to do through those programs.Filip K.
Here is an other I was considering as an avatar. I shows me as I truly am "the alien"

I actually use a Mac as well as a Pee-see.
When I first bought my Mac the photo booth gave me many moments of fun, now i use it for chat with family only.
I did a quick one...lol.
As far as websites go, I am NOT your guy, even with easy templates I can mess things up. I would love to have fancy stuff cool interface's and shiny blingy stuff but I have no Idea how to do it. The last time I messed with it was to install a 'shoutbox' well that trashed everything and i pretty much had to redo everything.
