#3 is very disheartening....
For you or for me?
The more I look at this I have to admit I may have seemed like a jerk. My apologies.
I meant nothing other than the fact I am not qualified to teach Google Earth and it is to my misfortune. -

We can talk through more of the details and maybe you'll find that this is possible to do AND have your own business not be affected.
Craig, this is the part that is stopping me. Maybe you can PM me with more info?

Hey Craig, thanks for posting about this. I've sent in my info to the email address you posted, so we'll see what happens. I've been looking to make a change in this direction so it's worth looking into.

That's great Peter! Thanks!
Tina Anne, I'll talk with the training folks tomorrow morning and will be in touch.
In looking at the responses, I may start to recommend that we have regional trainers...we'll see...
Thanks for your interest so far! I'll keep posting details.
Cheers,

Hi folks, I just spoke with our head of training and understand the positions a little better. It looks like these are FULL TIME (but temporary) positions and would require being treated as a full time gig.
I know there are folks out there that would be perfect for this position as a SketchUp trainer and it would open you up to many great contacts!
Please consider this, and throw your resume into the ring! <training at sketchup.com> (please say you saw the post at SCF when responding)
Come on all you SketchUp pros! This should be a very fun gig!

Hi Modelhead, I'm looking into your request now. I'm pretty sure that we're looking for individuals who will travel to training locations. Does that sound possible for you and/or your associates?
...and no, no-one's purposely ignoring your requests because of the name Modelhead!
I'll let you know on both fronts.
Cheers,

I have to give some thought to this but off hand,
We have a training facility here in Barrie that has 10 seats. It is of course busy with training on our 20-20 Kitchen Design Product as well as (for large "installed sales companies) Design Tools Suite. We also have a sales force and training facilities at a few popular US training destinations. If you check our web page and scan the events page it will give you an good idea of our US coverage.
The point is, our training staff members are in a positon to take on another product line. For the Design Tools product there will be expanding interest in SU because it compliments our product suite. We would like to start with an ATC in Barrie for a few reasons. I think probably to start with...to get our US facilities on board with SU.
So to answer your questions...yes...yes...yes, we can do...I think we should have an official relationship.
I would be happy to start a dialogue....Terry, my boss, President, Owner would like to be involved.......cheers!!
Please PM me your contact info...we're interested in chatting.
Thanks,
- CraigD

Bump! We're talking to some folks who've responded, but we welcome more interested folks.

We are serious about SketchUp's bright future and we would very much like to have some more great trainers on the team. So when I was asked to help find some good candidates, I couldn't think of a better place to contact some of the BEST Sketchers out there!
I'm just excited about it, and I can imagine that having this on a resume would be impressive! Plus you get to meet a lot of fun people on this adventure. I'm impressed with the response from our European members of the SketchUp community, and am trying to get the same response from the U.S folks.
If you're out there and want to give it a try or get more information, contact me or email: training at sketchup.com

Hi Craig,
Is this 1-year Temp with the possibility of longer if needed, or definitely just one year. I am most interested and think that I have the skills/knowledge to do this, as well as enjoying teaching. I have led small classes within our firm that I enjoyed. Another thing I'm curious about is the range of pay. Or course, that would be something maybe you could pm me, ball park figures are fine and everything is definitely confidential. The other swaying factor would be if I could be in Indianapolis training people somewhere around the weekend of September 14th. (Motogp) -
Hey CRC, I'll send ya a PM.
Thanks for the interest! We'll get you more info on the position.
Cheers,
