Hi Luciano, I quite actually quite like these and wouldn't say they were poor quality. I've not used Artlantis but your images look good and the post production into the photomontage works well. A couple of suggestions I would make would be to add bump or displacement map/modifier to your roof tiles/slates and reduce the glossiness reflection of the texture as well; at the moment its very shiny and CGI looking. Perhaps even darkening it a little to match the adjacent house would help. You've added a good amount of detail (hip tiles, gutters etc..) but the only areas I think you can add to would be to put in some rainwater downpipes and also lead flashings to the dormer-window cheeks and chimney/roof interface.
The glass to the windows is a bit on the white side so if you can get it to reflect the surrounds and make it a bit darker and try the other things I've suggested, I think you will end up with a very realistic image. -
thanks for the help Dzine.
totally agree with the bump mapping, there are still a few bits to add, but at least now i have a good starting block.
i'm finding artlantis exceptionally easy to use, the interface is almost intuitive, and the results appear to be quite good also. i do have podium, vray, and KT, but i have yet to try these out, i may do a comparison of this model though.thank you again for your help and input, it is always easiest to improve when you have an objective observer, especially if they (like you seem to) have an informed grasp of wht you are trying to achieve.
many thanks

Those look great, Luciano.

thank you daniel!
i'm now working on a complete house (as this was only a shell) litrally starting from the ground up, i intend on modelling every panel, beam, joint and tile in order to create a fully "built in sketch-up" house.
it will at the very least kill my computer (at at the very most, be the best model i have ever made), but it will be worth it, i like to challenge myself!
i estimate it to be completed by the middle of next week (as i only have 3hrs in the evenings to work on it)shall keep you posted.
oh and that other model is being re-rendered as we speak (on a collegues pc, don't tell him!)cheers again for the feedback!
