..taught my first class today.

..and i guess it went ok. its a 2 week 'camp' at Drexel University for high school students.. they stay in the dorms for 2 weeks..take drawing, modelling, design classes, and go on field trips. they'll be designing a 'green' bus shelter.
i taught two classes of 18 kids today..and damn, it was tough! i went over all of the basic tools and had sample files for them to play around with...and then went through an exercise where they model part of the barcelona pavillion..it was probably a bit slow and painful for most b/c i was running all over helping people out...haha...but it was fun...not sure how 'good' i did..but hopefully i'll get better.

Well done Mark!
The first class I ever took started with my knees knocking and my voice coming out in a faint quaver. It never got a whole lot better than that..... and it did convince me that I had better stick to my day job.

Cheers Mark!
I'm glad they are exploring the Barcelona Pavilion. It is likely that they aren't familiar with it yet it can open their eyes to the subtlety that is good design. It might just steer them in the right direction.

('jason'..yeah yeah..confusing..haha)
i figured it was a little inspiring..and relatively simple to build.. they built bits and pieces..and bits and pieces popped up for them as they went through the scenes...of course, some things didnt necessarily line up with what they drew...but whatever..
