Google Earth/Maps

What's different? That's been in Google Earth 4.0 since its release. Glad you like it though!
Cheers,

No it hasn't Craig.

What's changed? There has been a Roads layer in Google Earth 4 for quite a while (I thought it was in the 4.0 release)... http://earth.google.com/earth4.html
If you look at the attached JPG, it's got the Road layer that I circled. This is from the Google Earth 4 - What's New? page.
Am I missing something?

Yes you've missed that every street name is named - you can type in a street address and it goes directly to that position overlooking the address. They've incorporated Google Maps with Google Earth. Previously they were two different programs.
You need to download the new version to get it.

you could always type in an address John...
and I think Craig Works on Google Earth like as in for Google...
-
maybe you've had it in the US but it's new here. Sure, we've had major roads under the roads icon but it now has the detail and search function of Google Maps which we've never had before.
sorry if I'm wrong on this. juju seemed to understand me.
cheers

thats a good point maybe not downunder...
they've had it here local to me... and in the US... I can go down and see the roads and names and streets... and always have... although it's always off by like 250 feet... the actual point is usually across the street...
have you seen the street level thing yet?
-
Interesting - so yours has been like this??
-
yeah... pretty much I have a few other things turned on... but yeah...
-
ah - so they must have put us online with the update.
thanks Krisidious
cheers

Hi John, et al -
Sorry for the confusion! I didn't even check your location... Yes, this feature has been in certain, but not all locations, with the introduction of Google Earth 4. I'm glad it's in your spot now...and what a spot it is!!! West side of Ramsgate Ave sure does look like a heck of a nice place to live! If you ever need any on-sight help with SketchUp, I'd be glad to stop over!
Cheers,
- CraigD

that's ok Craig - hey that's a beautiful dog you have.
cheers

Well, I checked and my place also has the GMaps now as a layer in GE (it didn't use to be there). Even typing in adresses work (which did not for Hungary previously). Although I'm not exactly convinced that the position of the roads are correct. It seems that east-west it's OK but north-south there's a small distortion.
I still need to check and I'll show you what I mean.
