Handy models

Coen asked if I'd move a thread of mine called 'Organic modelling' into this section, I ask any moderator available to please do so for me, that way you can resize images to best fit viewing preferances...and 'cause I'm feeling lazy.
Below is the progress of modelling an item I will avoid like the plague in future, however now that I have one and it can be posed with some effort (not easy)and mirrored for use as a left hand I may not need to do this again.
(there may be several posts as 3 images are a post limit)
Balls, everything in my organic modelling starts with balls.
Shaping the balls
Manipulating the mesh
-
Shaping and contouring
Moulding and repairing...and screwing up.
-
Time killers
Pulling
Checking
-
Stretching my wrist
Components, components, components
Adding viens
-
Contours, humps and bumps
Viewing depression
Mr. Knuckles
-
Finishing touches
Smoothing and texturing
!st render
-
I think you should give up any career in Sketchup and become a full time pun master.... the punnage displayed in your posts are admirable
jokes aside.... good work u get a thumbs up (hahaha)

Solo, So you see all organic stuff as a collection of
balls? This is an interesting approach and obviously one
that works well for you ...... and maybe, with a bit
of luck ..... this community.Mike

Lol, It would be easier, and probably actually earn money.

I approach this chaotic modelling the way I draw, remember as a kid in school you were taught to draw people, figures by making a stick man then forming his shape with circles and ovals? I model with the same principle, that way I have a basic shape (1st image) and sculp down to shape.
I works for me...until edit phase that just confuses me and gets me chain smoking.

Quote from Pixar CEO:
"Come work for us !" -
And this is his hand pointing at me.
"Me? really?...you kidding!, with insurance and 401

Thumbs up solo, very effective modelling!

I am wondering.....
How would one texture this model with all the typical skin features like poors and hair and stuff.
I guess this is an impossible thing to do in sketchup?Although really really nice...it would be even more great to have it completely photoreal
He he.....always pushing solo to do even more and better

That's just INSANE!
(marc scratches his head and wonders about spline modelling in other packages).
))
Brilliant work!

Excellent stuff!!
How long does it take to do something like that? - it looks like it would take ages to do! -
As I started scrolling down the images slowly, I was half expecting it will all lead to a complete human body model down the page or on subsequent pages. At the same time some colourful exclamations were running through my head .
Solo, STUPENDOUS work!!

That's great modeling, but even more, it shows incredible anatomical knowledge and artistic sense.
