Quick render with Kerkythea...
-
Hi All,
Thought I would share one of my latest renders made with Kerkythea 2007...
I'm not happy with the roofing at all, but this was a project that needed to be completed within 5 hours, from scratch to finish 8O so I didn't have any time to find a better texture or make one based on images of the real roof...It took about 4 hours to complete the SU model and then I only had about 1 hour to set-up materials and trees etc. and render in KT...
Please note... There's NO post pro in this image, apart from the frame with text... 8OAny way - the client was very pleased with the result...
C&C are always welcome..!!
Cheers

Frederik,
This is very nice, indeed! Since I don't know how the "real" roof should look like, it does not bother me at all.
I always found the plants the hardest to render in external shots in Kerky and here they are just perfect! -
Thumbs up man!
I like your composition. The texturing looks good too. I like how the grass looks but they'll be needing to give it a haircut soon. At the scale/resolution I'm seeing it, the roof texturing looks good.
Regards, Ross

...yeh, I like the roof too: even the moire works to the image's advantage!
Kim, Great image!...and model!
I'm impressed even before considering the time involved. (So much so I kept looking for that thing I felt missing...is the umbrella a billboard? :`)
Thanks for sharing, Tom.

Very impressed especially since I have not tried any P.R. rendering myself, then to know the project was 5 hours

Overall its a nice image however I cant help but notice a couple of missing details that would have given the roof a less 'CG' appearance.
The dormer window needs a gutter above the door and perhaps to the sides. The roof hips and ridge should have hip and ridge tiles respectively
There is detail in the image already (lead flashing adjacent to dormer cheeks, tile vents below ridge etc..) and with these added the roof would look less like a flat surface with a tile texture added to it and gain the realism that it deserves.
Good work again Kim!

Thanks for the comments to ALL of you!
@DzineTech: I fully agree with your points, and if I had had some more hours to work on this, I would have had the time to put some more "love" and details into the model...
@Ross: Good to see you again! The grass sure needs a "haircut"...
I've attached another angle, which also will show another angle of the 3D trees...
Cheers
