      Hi Mateo,
Well, like you I fell in love with Vue the minute I
lay eye on,I agree with U, Vue is a pain for interior But the good thing is we don't really need to produce fantastic looking shot most of our client don't
pay us for the drawing .Speed is what my bosses want.

I am a Viz user (old Viz3i) We are also gearing for some
exterior works and I think its time we upgrade my "old rendering software" So I decide to take a bet on Vue to strike the balance. So far I think I hv made a right choice (I hope so :-p) Or my bosses with hang me by my balls,or there goes part of my pay-hehe

If you don't mind, how do you place your background scence? in some of your posting I notice they are not default Vue scence. Thanks in advance

      Rgds
      Tom

        Tom,
Actually I made my own skyes. Well I didnt make them from scratch but adopted them from
the existing ones. But if You want to make Your own skies You can do it in one of the following ways:
1.Make Your own atmospheres from scratch or adopt the existing ones (like I did)
        2.Use HDRI skies
3.Importing photos for skyes using alpha
        planes
Here is a link to tutorial by Thomas Krahn
        http://www.thomaskrahn.com/Tutorials.How_to_use_photos_for_skies.htm
Check this guy, he is only 18 and his work is one of the reasons I love Vue.

Talking of alpha planes I did an experiment
yesterday using transparent tree images from
form fonts and importing them using alpha planes. after tweaking them I made instantly
        ecosystems and populated complete forests.
Its amazing.I have tutorials for all that stuff if You need them.

        Hope this helps for now.
        Mateo

Edges seem hazy, is that intentional or software idiosyncrasy? I also agree that the spotlights are a bit strong. Moreover, there is no apparent light fixtures where those spots are coming.

How much time did it take to render each image?

I thought I saw my sofa sets for the first time in a render (rub eyes), looks very similar! viewtopic.php?f=16&t=721

            Hi Mateo,
Thanks for the link, will make good use of it.
At this point in time any tutorial will help.
As I mentioned earlier I am still trying very
            hard to tame Vue

            Hi Guite,
Oh yes that is ur sofa, sorry forget to give you
credit earilier. the hazy edges are not intentional
infact till now I am still trying to get a sharper
            image . the 1st image took 45 min and 2nd 26min
in my - Duo 1.86 2gig ram. too long for my comfort
actually but heck ,I am the one wanting it.Sooooo

              Hi Tom,
Pretty good start for Vue interiors!
If this is early days with the renders done in work real time we can expect to see a lot more good stuff!! πŸ˜„
And there is a huge difference between commercial output with budgets and deadlines and the 'hobbyist' images that have been fussed over and cooked for days!!

                Thanks Stu,
I am still licking my wound suffered from about 1 week Vue-ing πŸ˜‰ taking a few days off to do some Viz(work)
I hope I won't disappoint U or my bosses with my future Vue rendering 😳
Hv not done rendering more than 5-10 mins for a looong
time, the feeling is both sweet and sour,or (SHIOK!!) in our local contact talking about
                cooking for days πŸ˜†
How are you doing old pal....

                  Tom,

These are excellent interior renders from Vue- it is an absolute bugger to get interior daylit renders from: I've all but given up on it and started working in Maxwell instead. Unless Eon completely reprogram Vue it'll never be any good for daylit interiors, but you've done a great job of bullying it into doing what you want.

Its always nice to see your (meaning mine) work put to good use. The warmth in your image is appealing, well suited for a cold climate region, takes away from the coldness of the white external wall and ceiling.

26 to 45 minutes is a decent time. Yesterday I tried a rendering (after a gap of about three years), this time in Kerkythea, for one of our office projects. After adjusting textures and setting up six omni lights, I started to render a night scene 800x600 pixels in a high setting- path tracing high or MLT I think. It still was not done after two hours. So I cancelled it and just exported raw from SU.

                      Tom,
If you really run into trouble using Vue for interiors maybe use it more for external work and get up to speed with Kerkythea [wont cost your boss anything πŸ˜„] for inside jobs. But don't use MLT unless you have a a couple of spare days πŸ˜„
