The answer to city / town travel, Vectrix !
-
Hi Guys,
The Vectrix Electric Motor Scooter could be the answer
to city / town travel. I like the styling, performance
and zero emissions of this little baby. Only thing that
puts me of a little is the price ! But again you get what
you pay for.One interesting feature this scooter has is reverse ability.
This should make life a lot easier for people with short
legs, I'm included in this category LOL.You can check out details here,
http://www.vectrix.com/
and this video is good also, although the American guy got his
0-60mph figure wrong. Its not as quick as he says but
still quick enough.

introduced as it will pull in people that have never used
motor bikes / scooters before.Mike

I haven't seen this make or model, but I have seen a three-wheeled scooter around Edinburgh a few times, I think it's a Vespa. It looked pretty cool, but as much as I'm all for encouraging greener ways of travelling I should say that "cool" related more to the technology than the minus-kudos of riding the thing. I'd rather be seen on a tricked out mountain or road pedal bike than a scooter, but that's just me.
That makes me wonder- do BMW still do their scooters with the rollcage and seatbelt? When I first saw them in magazines years ago I thought "yeah right, like that'll catch on", but when you see them in the flesh they're actually pretty nifty and apparently much safer. Must be nice to not get absolutely soaked through when it rains too (which it rarely does here in Scotland haha)

i actually was looking to buy a "TANK" brand scooter (gas powered) about a year ago, when gas prices in the US started to spike... now i regret not buying one since gas has really gone up, even when it drops a few cents i get all giddy and wish i had a scooter capable of achieving 70+mph and still looking at a 50-80mpg read.
oh well. hopefully in the near future i'll be looking to buy again, and this time i'll do it.

Jackson,
You probably saw the Piaggio three wheeler around (pic below).
I like this particular configuration as the two front wheels
with disc brakes make it safe and stable. The other pic is of the Gillera Fuoco (Fire) 500, a more raw
looking version of the three wheeler. The ideal machine will be the three wheel Vectrix when they
bring it out.I notice that there are lots of new designs coming on stream
in the area of bikes and scooters. The BMW C1 and the C1 200
was a great machine for our climate but the price tag was too
high ! I dont think they are being made any longer but may be
wrong.Mike
PS: I don't think the young lady comes with the Fuoco but if she
does they should sell like hot cakesPPS: The new pic might help Jackson to concentrate on the scooter,

Mike,
The interesting thing is that if you look very closely at that 1st image there's actually a scooter in the background.
