The first image is a standard Podium 1.5 b3 render, I left the plans as ground texture, and extruded a few landscape symbols as well as including a few landscape trees and shrubs to give a feeling of work in progress. the second image is a PSP effect i was working on, a DOF motion blur.

As usual, it's a great pleasure looking at your renders...
Only thing I don't understand... Where do you get the time and inspiration to do all this...Cheers
Kim Frederik -
Thanks Kim
I often get asked if i ever sleep too, actually i get a lot of zzz time. I am fortunate to have a great and very comfortable workflow, I also have been dilegent in filing and keeping my folders very organized. I use pre made components and always have a mental plan before starting any project. After all this time using SU and my Space explorer i am able to model very fast and get the renders set up quick too. I do on average 1-2 models a day, and that includes rendering. Unfortunately I cannot always post my work here as most of my projects get sold with all rights, so only my personal projects, the ones my wife builds (she has a construction business) and ones i do for free or fun get posted. I am very lucky to have a steady flow of referals too, and so far i have had no complaints. I cater to the small design/builder or architectural firm that cannot afford a fulltime design/render/animator, so they contract me for individual projects that cannot be done inhouse. I mostly work off thier plans hence modeling is fast, I have now stopped all Max renders as the wasted render time was killing me, even though Podium and Vue do not have all the bells and whistles that max has, they do have speed, and my customers are willing to forgo the perfection for quick turn around of a very acceptable image at a very decent price.
I am waffling and this is turning into an ad...sorry
here is another, a Night scene.

Amazing looking as usual, always look forward to your postings.

Well... Thanks for the explanation...
I also feel that I have a decent work flow, but I haven't got the same talent you have when it comes to putting a scene together and even though it's my impression that I have a fairly large component and texture database, I'm far behind your talent...Any way... I'll keep in mind that your talent is available for hire...
Cheers
Kim Frederik -
Thanks for the explanation on your workflow solo. I get great inspiration from you postings. My next step is to get into PR rendering and Podium seems the best route.
What is the cost of the new release of Podium if you don't mind me asking?
Edit: I just checked it out. Man that is not very expensive for the results you are turning out. -
This is cool stuff. Very inspiring.
My only complaint is that the ramp is too steep.
-
Solo it's nice!
Bu i want to ask what kind of beta do you use?@unknownuser said:

I can see a notice about beta 2 of 1.5 ...

Pete, just great! Very inspiring. Podium is about to work its way into my workflow....
-
Thanks guys,
ilay7k, I am a beta tester for Podium, the version I am using is apparently going to be available this week for download (doing final bug fixing)
Eric, yes it is a great price for a power app that works like a charm within SU.
Dave R, The ramp is a little steep, it also needs railings...lol, I took a little artistic license :ewink:
-
is this a real project? if so I think you're Handicapped Access is a little too short and a little too steep.
beautiful render... and I really like the wall exterior, nice lighting too.
-
Thats it, I have to learn Podium!
-
Yeah, me too, Jon...but I'll first have to do a brain defrag deciding what to delete from limited memory.
Sweet! work again, Pete (tho' the second one makes me a little queasy :`)

That made me laugh. I need one of those too. I have also been looking for my ctl/alt/del buttons but cannot seem to locate them.

I think I've got a hardware conflict, a hard drive bulging with ideas, but not enough ram.

Kris
This is not a real project, just another image when I get an opening between jobs I tend to doodle.
-
that's one hell of a doodle... lol see this is the kind of thing that you should be selling on SHP...
-
what's SHP?
