Hey CADken, how about updating YOUR profile so I know where you're coming from. I'm in the Philly area too and am always looking for a good brewer. I haven't found many notable micros around here but still like to buy local beer. Stoudt's is kind of local (Adamstown, near Harrisburg), they nail every style they make and Troegs has done some great beers too. Can't forget Yuengling either, they're solid. I went to college near them and their lager was a staple everywhere, it is one of a kind.

sorry about that... i live in Lancaster, PA... we just moved here from Bucks County about 2 months ago, so i'm still new to this area and scouting our local brews around here.

do you think they'd ship it to the US? Laughing i'd be interested to sample some of the beers they brew... the Pils one looks good, as well as the interesting "fuel" brew.

No, I doubt it. It's kind of a lager you can get anywhere (well, not the Pils type maybe).
But you can come around here and sample it! Smile

I'm not too sure, but I think you can get it in some areas of the States, its called Big Rock Brewery, you have to try Grasshopper, its one of the best brews around.

Another favourite of mine is not Canadian at all, but English (some of the best beers come from there!) is called Newcastle, it's so delicious I couldn't begin to describe it!

And if you are looking for a microbrewery in Calgary, I could suggest the Amsterdam Rhino, or the Wildwood, neither of which sells their beer outside their bar (much to my dismay!)

The last one I will suggest is from BC and it is called Shaftebury, try their summer ale, absolutely gorgeous!

Man, I'm on board with the listed beers: Guinness, Newcastle, Sam Adams are my staples...plus Corona when it's hot as Hell...which it has been in Colorado lately.

But I have some new favorite local brews: http://www.breckenridgebrewery.com/

                  Their Avalanche is awesome!

Come out to Boulder for a visit and we'll try both!! A little tasting perhaps!

                  Cheers,

If you can get it, you guys should try some Old Peculier. There are some better Old Ales, but I think Theakstons is more generally available outside the UK than the others. It's not exactly drunk warm, but only slightly chilled...to drink it any other way would be a sin. You can't drink too much of it though, it's too flavourfull....and you tend to fall off the bar stool. Wink
Far better on draught, but you can't have everything.

I've often wondered from you guys in the UK, what beers do you drink at room temperature? over here in N. America, cold beer is basically the selling point of the larger companies in the industry (look at any Coors ad) I though, tend to like a few of the darker ales at warmer temperatures than your average joe... but I know I'm probably drinking the wrong ones warm. so which beers would you guys suggest i drink warm?

see i must be weird, but some of my beers i like to drink while they are at room temp, i guess it's just the flavor Confused

thanks for all the replies guys! i'm def going to have to start doing my research Very Happy and hopefully in my travels i'll be able to stop and sample some beers along the way 👍
