You remember my recent topic - Beach project any ideas??

Well that project hasn’t even started yet . I am still waiting for the contracts
and a green light for that, but in the meantime I got commissioned a similar
project for a different party and have just completed it. Yet another complex
    and computer choker from me.
I am slowly becoming an expert in this seaside landscape work this being
my fifth project . Soon ill become a beach design consultant if something like
that even exists. Wait till I get under water.
Anyhow, here are some images and all Your feedback and comments are
    more than welcome.

    Cheers,
    Mateo

The balance between the stylised and realistic elements are great and the level of detail is very impressive, how big is the file for this mode? i didnt notice too mnany textures (that would be of considerable size) but it works well in the overall effect

this is great stuff, mateo. the straight SU material looks really good. what did you use for the first 3 images? some style? another application after SU?

            cheers.

Great stuff, Mateo! I have always enjoyed your style (though my attraction to Dalmatia/Dalmacija may also play some role... 😉 )

                Great renders,
but please try to keep Croatia the lovely country it is, at human scale 😉

                  Thank You all.

                  ArchiRag,
Its not that big I worked with much bigger files. But when You take into consideration that even the main interiors are covered I am more than satissfied .

                  37 MB
                  layers 37
                  groups 123
                  component instances 419
                  materials 433

                  Edson,
The first one is two image export- first one with materials and shadows .
second one hidden line without shadows. In Photoshop distort ripple both
placing the second image over first and random the use of eraser and
                  white brush tools .

The technique of the second two images start with a image obtained above
duplicating it. Now that we have one over another we can play again, first
I put watercolour effect on the top one . Since I am using PS 0.7 i Have
noticed that most artistic filters are too harsh and give an unwanted
uniform effect instead of handrawn effect. In order to soften that effect
and give it an more realistic feel I play with transparency , eraser tool ,
                  smudge tool.
That would roughly be that, there are some other little points but if anyone
is interested in a complete step by step process or a tutorial just ask.

                  Didier,
Actually the project is in Montenegro, but anyway the comment stands.
Croatia is beautifull because in the last 45 years of the comunist regime
nobody invested in anything. So the beautifull nature was preserved to
this day. Now people want to valorise to its fullest their piece of plot.
Now ,we architects and designers are having a tremenduous problem in
coping with the new situation - the open market . On one hand one can
choose to compromise with the client and of course the existing legistlature
or to be without work. But thats another topic.

                  Cheers,
                  Mateo

Great project and modelled/presented very well.

I like the 6th image down taken from out to sea. It is unusual having the water in front like that.

Now although the reflection and effect looks really good, it also looks like an oil tanker just crashed a few miles out to sea! 😄

Actually it looks like the oil tanker crashed just there, but
its a good effect anyway, not for this kind of SU output but
                                    generally. 😄

Yes, I know it does not really "fit" the original image - I was just playing...
Also, it was just a few second playing - the oil tanker effect is most probably due to the fact... 😒

I am starting a new client relationship which I think may call for a direct SU approach without additional rendering. Your style for this project will be in the back of my mind as I start on this project. What you have done is very spare but effective.
