    Hello friends

I've been contracted to do the modeling and rendering for this residential addition. The architecture isn't my cup of tea so don't critique me on it.
    Modeled in SU
Rendered in Kerkythea with Path tracing option
Grass and other plants in Photoshop

    Comments and crits welcome.

Very nice ❗ I love the shot looking over the fence. Makes me want to jump over and steal their Iced Tea on the table... oops they are home. Maybe later.

the renderings look quite well. I'm glad you do not fancy the architecture. neither do I. (respecting opinions to the contrary, of course)

Unfortunately my Brazilian friend I live in Washington DC - a very architecturally conservative place. It is really difficult to do anything modern.

At my office we have finally gotten to the point where we do not take on anything that isn't modern. It has taken us several years to get here. I did this project as a favor to a friend of mine + I needed the money - got to pay for my daughter baptism!

Quite nice work. Hmmm... A few things.

              1. Light quality. The images seem a little gloomy, try to liven them up a little.
              2. Consitency. The grass patch with the flowering weeds (quite a nice touch IMHO) isn't present on the other processed image.
              3. Context. Is this house in a field? If so, why the need for the fence so close to the house, why the need for the fence at all?

                hi ypnos1,

I hope you did not take me the wrong way, as I was in no way being critical of you. of course, all of us at some point have to accept jobs we do not like in order to pay the bills.

to tell you the truth, in brasil it is not that easy for modern architecture to be accepted, strange as it may sound to you. many people are into historicist stuff (other people's history, I am afraid), even tough it has nothing to do with our culture.

by the way, I checked out inscape's website. among several good works I like very much the buchanan st. apts. and the U st. studio.

                regards.

I have not taken offense to anything friend. Glad you liked those projects. We won an AIA award for the UStreet project- so that was cool

                  Juju,

Great comments! Thank you for a great review. You are right! I won't be updated these images but will consider your comments for future work. I only recieved 2d CAD drawings from which I generated this model. It isn't in a field - but in a residential neighborhood. I wish i had more info and I would have built more of the context. However I did not. In fact I didn't even have the property line information! So i had to guess where the walls should be. That part bugs me a lot.

                  Thanks again!

                  Ypnos

                    I love these ypnos.

                    A few questions!
In the image straight from Kerk your grass is normal, i.e flat. In the processed images the grass looks fantastic, is this done in PS? I would love to know how to achieve this effect.

In the last image straight from Kerk, is the tree to the right of the house 2d? I like the look of it and wondered where it was from.

                    Dylan
