Xyz-information...
-
hi @all the ruby guys...
maybe a silly question but as I am not in the ruby stuff:
is there a script available which allows me to see the XYZ-coordinates of a selected endpoint? Or any other way I missed to get that information?
Thanks for any hint or solution...!

as I said... a silly question
Just found the answer - had never given attention to the queryfunction before... -
Alsoö, Franziska, if you simply place a text label onto an endpoint, beforte you enter your custom text, the xyz info is displayed (as when you place it onto a face, the area parametres are displayed).

yes and no, Gaieus...
you get the xyz-information in the text dialog only, if you pick an endpoint that does not belong to a group or component... otherwise you get the name of the group/component as text template...
nevertheless, that hint was something new to me, as I usually do not work with text labels. Thanks!
Cheers,

FranziskaFranziska,
Whenever you enter the cage.. eh.. group or component (i.e. Edit mode) you will have the same option.
The text label just needs to be on the same level to get X,Y,Z-values -
Wo3Dan,
yes, that is obvious. but as I use a lot of cascaded components/groups in my designs, the queryfunction in the tools menu seems to be the easier way to me as I do not have to edit three or more components just to get the xyz-info. However, it's good to know that there are (different) ways one can go...
