I just went over and looked at what I assume is the new home of the sketchup forum... and eeewwww... there is already like 50,000 posts...
I think we should all sign up there and put sketchucation in our sigs...
show them the light...

The existing Google Groups for SketchUp are not likely to be the home of the migrated SU Forums. Google are working towards a new "Pro" set of Groups. The new Groups may be quite distinct from the existing ones.

Ah, Kristoff,
Maybe not?
There is debate about the new SU pro forum at GGs being for licence holders only. Reason being to prevent it being swamped by blow-in hobbyists.
The old forum was becoming really bloated and impersonal so lets not actively encourage the same thing to happen here.

Guys,
Still back in my "free" user time started to post in the Groups Forums, too. (You can search back when exactly - my "older" email address I posted under is also in the "Group info": gai...@septichora.hu) and I can tell you that parallel with (probably) the number of users since about last August/September, the level of thatgroup has declined drastically, too.
So I also disegree with Google's policy about "segregating" users by a strong group policy (see this thread of our "current" forum here) and also with really encouriging real bonehead newbies to visit this site - and litter it with their basic questions (but that's also the "job" of the moderators - and of course yours to report these posts).
Plus I'm afraid "scaleability" hasn't been able to be achieved there so far for due to my experiences the Groups (technically) work worse than ever.

OK, clear thing: You buy my software and I'm buying you. Funny Much fun in the GPF, but here's more what is called "community life"
