Fireplaces
-
Both are quite nice. Hard to think of both, with such differing styles, being in one house. But, from the pics, looks like a rather large abode.
-
Yes, around 7,400 s.f. each floor, then the third had about 3,000 useable. Then both 3 car garages are 1,200 s.f.
There were 4 fireplaces, one in the great hall (the second one I posted), one in the dining room (the first one), one in the master bedroom and one in the loggia out back. -
Hi, the 2nd fireplace is very good !
Good job !
Do you use also Revit ? Here in Italy more users are still using it.....also me -
Thanks vanni31 and welcome.
I do use Revit. I am actually working on This Project in Revit now. The images on that thread were done in SU of course, now I am putting it all in Revit.Where in Italy do you live?

Hi,
I'm living in Florence,Toscany
i'm an architectural student
Just a question
How amounts the object in Revit from the sketchup file?
Can you explain me the right mode, please?
Thank you -
I am not sure I understand totally what you want to know but...
The SketchUp file is 4.28MB. The existing, new, site, plants, people... I only created the skin on the majority of the building.
The Revit files... The existing building alone is 9MB and the new is 5MB so far. Almost everything is 3d parametric. The walls, floors, roof, etc. It is all modelled and can be scheduled.
Now there are some specific shapes that I can create in SU and bring into Revit but for the most part it is all drawn new.
Does this help?
-
Ah ,ok
the sketchup file is just a study of the project in Revit, right? -
Actually the SU study came first. Then when the client agreed on a design we moved into CD's in Revit.
-
excuse me Eric ,but I have to understand well
when you say:" now I am putting it all in Revit" do you mean that In revit you must redraw everything ?from zero? Right? -
Yes.
And it was kind of a blessing too. We went through so many changes (2 years worth) in the design phase of this job that I am glad to get to the CD's. Redrawing in Revit is really quite easy.
