Cmd key gets stuck when switching windows on MacOS

Using SketchUp Free on MacOS (Safari and other browsers), if you use Cmd+Tab to switch to another window, then to switch back to the browser, the app behaves as if the Command key is still being pressed. It seems like it doesn't clear the pressed state when blurring/focussing the window. As a result, the usual keyboard shortcuts and mouse actions don't behave as expected until you press and release Command again.
