      Bookcase on legs.png

This was just a quickie I did for a woodworker whose daughter asked for a tall bookcase with two drawers on splayed legs. She couldn't give him much more to go on and he was having difficulty visualizing. This is what I got from her description. He showed it to her. She liked it. He's in his shop building it. That's the way it should work.

FWIW, I made up a set of the McCobb-style tapered legs at a variety and the wooden cleat for mounting them to keep as components. It's pretty handy to be able to drag the cleat assembly into the model space and quickly replace the legs with the right length for the project.

Nice. Good idea to save the tapered legs in a component library.

            Thank you gentlemen.

Charles, I like them, too. I wish I could say it was my idea. πŸ˜‰

It's very cool that a model that you can knock out so easily is such a help to both the person building it and his daughter to visualize it.

I like the splayed legs as well, but what does the McCobb-style refer to?

                Thank you.

Paul McCobb was a furniture designer who did a lot of furniture in the Mid-Century Modern style. Turned tapered legs are a common feature on his furniture designs.
