Sugar chest

Spent this afternoon avoiding some real work, so I spent the time modeling this sugar chest. The original was made somewhere in the U.S. in about 1860; the primary wood is cherry. I based the model on images from the 1stdibs.com web site.

I'm guessing the divider is dovetailed?

As for the divider, S Shepherd, I actually have no idea how it's set into the chest because I didn't have any images of the chest's interior. But after looking at images of similar chests, I decided that it would be OK to set the divider into shallow dadoes in the front and back. Now that I think about it, using dovetails to house the divider would add a smidgen of strength to the chest. So thanks for your question.

The piece is 30 in. wide, 32-1/2 in. high, and 18 in. deep. And, yes, sugar chests were once common, when people bought the stuff in bulk.
