Double beds

I modeled the four-poster on the left last year for Glen Huey, who runs the 360 Woodworking web site. It's an illustration for a book on period furniture that Glen may publish someday. The four-poster on the right is a brand-new model of a contemporary bed that I saw on the 1stdibs.com web site. The designer calls it a campaign bed because the ebonized oak parts fit into brass fittings and so can be disassembled. (I combined the images in Photoshop, so they probably aren't in scale.)
Enjoy.

Very nice. I like the one on the left better. The one on the right seems to be a bit high.

Thanks, Dave.
I think the discrepancy in size comes from my combining two JPEGs in PhotoShop without worrying about the scale. Here's an image of the two beds in the same SketchUp scene.
Best,

I was just thinking of the height of the mattress within the frame of the bed. Not really comparing mattress heights between the two. Maybe that mattress height helps to keep snakes out of your bed when you are out on campaign.

Great models David .

Thank you, tuna. Good thought about the snakes, Dave.

A while back I came across plans for furniture that was designed for various state parks in Texas. Each park got it's own style of buildings and furniture to go in them. There were plans for beds to go into cabins that were designed to keep the snakes out.
