Sketchup & Maxwell Render.

Wow!! Did you make that model? Looks like a photo

-
Thanks for the comment Andy. I found the model here in max format my friend converted it to .skp for me :

It's too heavy to upload here i think. But it's uploaded to a face book group here:

I used some very light displacement on the sand and a beach HDRI. -
Oh, so it's not a sketchup model... it's a rendering of something else.
-
Yes it's all in sketchup, the .skp file is posted to the Facebook group linked above ^

-
But not created in Sketchup? Only rendered?
-
Fair enough, I just needed to know as your renders are generally exceptional I looked at this and thought your modelling was beyond exceptional too.
-
Yes just imported, the floor and scene then created. I suspect looking at the geometry that it was scanned.I make proxies from high poly assets like these. I can then populate a sketchup scene easily.
-
Yeah that looks difficult to model it's just so random and twisted. I couldn't get near that quality modelling.

No kidding! Not just the modeling, but then texturing it too. That would be quite a job to model from scratch.

Wow!

Very nice render, Simon!

Best,
