::Restaurant:: 3d Panorama
-
long time no see, guys.. I need to go through and catch up with a whole bunch of posts and look at all the good stuff that's been being posted.
it seems as though 3d panorama's are coming back around in popularity with the advent of google cardboard, etc. its been a good 5 years since I've done one but I've had a few inquiries lately so I figured I'd mess around with a restaurant we designed because the model was pretty complete (just have to disregard the exterior...I should've made the curtains more opaque.
i happened to pick up a google cardboard viewer last week at a convention and this is really fun to look at with the viewer.

Wow! Excellent work! What render and VR software did you use?
-
Thanks Bryan. Rendered in Thea and that host its on, Roundme, takes care of the VR portion. Just upload the images and drag them around to create hotspots..super simple.
-
You uploaded a model?
Great job!Really gives the feeling of the space, with the lighting and all. Smooth interface too.
-
not the model... because then obviously you wouldnt have the lighting, etc anyway.. but a render done with a spherical lens at a 2:1 resolution.

What happened to the fish tank? Or have I got the wrong project?
-
Wow this is excellent!!
-
You've got the right project, Richard. They didn't mind paying for the fish tank, but unfortunately, no one could come up with a convenient way to access it and clean it since it couldn't be reached from above and then they lost interest. A few things were bounced around, even some kind of hologram?? but ultimately, this is what was decided on.
I just got a bunch of pics of this job and its getting very close and its pretty damn spot on to the design (for once). I'll share them when its more complete.

I rather like the decision made there, very effective! Look forward to seeing some shots of the finished space!
