Barley Twist
-
This is a render I did yesterday from a model drawn not long ago. You'd think the guy building it would do a better job of matching the grain on the legs.
I need to sort out the grainy appearance on the lower side rail at the right as well as the side of the front right rail. I'm also not all that fond of the rim lighting on the barley twist of that front right leg. It would be cool to be able to see from which direction it's coming so I could put in a gobo and block that light. Perhaps that's a benefit of using an in-SketchUp rendering app.

Just came across this old post. I really like the lighting in the render, although I agree about the rim.
I have a lot of trouble lighting my models. I've tried a few setups I found on the Twilight forum, but I never get it quite right even with a lot of frustrating fiddling. -
Glad you bumped it. The guy also made one too many legs. What's that about?
I know what you mean but looks great to me!
