I stumbled on this little gem, i thought it would make a great 3d study. The iconic vacation house looks over Lake Lucerne in Switzerland. I have donated the model to a rendering competition in my friends group on Facebook. The link to download the model and the rules are in the first comment in the pinned post in this group:

the model is available in sketchup 3ds and obj formats
Perhaps some of the sketchucation people will enter ?
As always i used Maxwell Render plus this time i used the new skatter plugin for distributing the grass trees & pine cones. I also experimented with procedural volumetric fog.
C&C welcome as always.

These are glorious. The exteriors and that stair detail are really good!
EDIT: Unfortunatelly I haven't got facebook so I cannot enter (the facebook below isn't managed by me...)

Both exterior and interior are amazing, but the exterior ones are almost perfect
I say "almost" because of the aliasing of the platform in the 1st pic
The second pic is 100% perfect to my eyes, I love the fogVery very nice

The anti aliasing issue exists only in sketchucation and the small resolution. Maxwell never has these issues thanks for the comment.

this result is, as fantastic, as are all your products. I learn something from every one thank you.

Thankyou Mike.

Chedda,
I've just looked at the model. It's very good and the project is very interesting too. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks JQL it's quite timeless i guess. Sometimes its mind boggling how modern things were back in the fifties. The fun starts when you see the old cars parked outside and it dates them.

Top draw stuff again

really great work! I like the fog and vegetation, it seems quite realistic! Well done!
