The software, currently designed for the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 tablet, allows for the creation of complex symmetrical shapes using a set of pre-defined criteria. The software transforms simple input geometry into complex geometry through a series of procedural “generations”. Each generation can be controlled using a set of parameters such as rotation and offset. The output includes a consistent and clean topology of objects including a closed 2-manifold geometry ready for 3d printing.

This is exactly what I've been needing for the past couple of years!

I even mentioned 2 years ago I need a tool that allows you to import simple geometry and then "make it complex". Things don't need to be so difficult.

Otherwise you can't play; you need to know your solution from the start....you can't play with different complex shapes applied to a simple model. This software allows for a new design process where you can experiment and play.

Ordinarily you would have to approach a model with a specific goal in mind then make the model using traditional modelling techniques or learn a whole new app.

Say for example you have a simple ring model; this software would allow you to play with complex geometry based on the "bounding" dimensions of the initial ring volume. Making complex shapes in other software from the start can numb the design process and limit creativity.

This is what I was doing with a meshlab voronoi experiment.....but it's a very time-consuming and demanding process. You import any sketchup model you want and then "make it voronoi".

Have you put your hands on the program in Surface Pro 2 or ist's always in developpment ?

PS MeshLab don'tpermit to make a macro for other users have just to press a button for remake that the video shows ?

(don't yet shown the Chipp's video, but I suppose that is excellent as always! 😄

I think MeshLab needs a damn Undo button before they even think about a macro!! 😍 🤣
